Setting a text by Emily Patterson, this piece celebrates growth and marvels at the power of small things. Lilting choral parts make stylistic use of vocal slides over an energetic piano accompaniment. A contrasting second half makes use of vocables in the choir, building from a meditative start to a jubilant end with a rich texture of three-part choral harmony, descant, piano, and percussion.
