This report is part of the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) programme which aims to provide a comprehensive cross-sectional picture of the dietary habits and the nutritional status of the British population. This report, the second in the series, covers intakes of energy and macronutrients by a national sample of adults aged 19 to 64 years living in private households in Britain. The survey was carried out between July 2000 and June 2001.Chapters look at energy intakes as well as intakes of protein and carbohydrate, alcohol, fat and fatty acids. Results are broken down by age, sex, region and household receipt of benefits.
