基本説明

Discusses control of intracellular calcium as well as control by intracellular calcium, covering such topics as muscle contraction, metabolic processes, hormone and transmitter secretion, and more.

Full Description

This international symposium deals with the central role of calcium in intracellular processes that range from contraction to enzyme activation, exocytosis, cell proliferation, and early embryonic development. Latest research into the molecular biology of calcium-binding proteins such as troponin C and calmodulin, and calcium pumps of plasma sarcoplasmic membranes, is discussed. The symposium should interest research workers in cell biology, cell physiology and molecular biology; it is also relevant to pharmacologists, neurophysiologists and endocrinologists who are concerned with fundamental cell regulatory processes. Edited discussions are included in full.
