This new edition of a technical dictionary is an evaluation of the technical terms found in the domestic and foreign literature and in standards, guidelines and directives. This dictionary contains more than 2,000 terms mainly with definitions with respect to non-destructive testing methods, such as ultrasonic testing, radiography, X-ray diffraction, visual testing, acoustic emission testing, eddy current testing, magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, leak testing, general terms of NDT personnel certification and qualification, weld defects etc. The technical knowledge of the authors, Jochen Mussmann, with more than 25 years of experience as welding engineer in industry and in the FDBR, and Heinz-Peter Schmitz with nearly 30 years professional experience as translator/official in charge of documentation in the FDBR is reflected in this dictionary.
