Today, Banking is an essential part of our economic system. Modern trade and commerce would almost be impossible without the availability of suitable banking services. The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, was established in order to finance the growing trade market between China and Europe. Thomas Sutherland, a Hong Kong Superintendent of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company, has founded this bank in March 1865. Currently, the import regulations and provisions of Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited serve as an overview to some selected commercial banks with similar import policy procedures.
