This book presents to the readers the experiences of women facing domestic violence in the United Kingdom and Kenya. The author found that domestic violence in the developing world is limited due to the amount of research done on the subject. In addition, cultural mores against reporting violence makes it difficult to access. Violence against women is widespread. Any woman is at risk of domestic violence, regardless of race, class, ethnic origin, religion, age, sexuality, disability or lifestyle. The author elucidate that violence can affect every aspect of a woman's life; her physical and emotional well being; her relationships with children, family, neighbours and colleagues; her options for work and leisure. This book is highly recommended for family, students, counselors and the high educational institutions.
