The book deals mainly with the bicultural identities of young Asian people at school in Birmingham (UK) and Vancouver. The first chapter discusses the history, religion and culture of the people from the Indian sub-continent. The remaining chapters feature analysis and discussion of the data obtained through interviews with young people, parents, teachers and community leaders. The author's previous publications include "The Cultural Context of Thinking" (NFER) and, edited jointly, "The Cognitive Development of the Indian Child", among numerous articles on multicultural matters.
