A bibliography of selected print and nonprint materials, including new media, about dance that are recommended for inclusion in libraries that support undergraduate curricula and/or a significant dance community. All forms and styles of dance are represented as well as all geographic areas. Intended for use by dance educators and librarians as a tool for development and expansion of existing collections, building collections from scratch, and the evaluation of collections. Included are dance biographies and autobiographies, historical overviews, and a list of reference works. Various dance styles referenced include:
native peoples
African-American
African-Carribbean
Latin American
Western European Renaissance and Baroque
A wide range of forms includes classical, ballet, jazz, tap, social and variety such as minstrel, vaudeville, and burlesque. Other sections include production and choreography.
